boots protect and perfect serum is amazing! they do a specialised under the eye cream too, its won awards as its one of the few products thats been proved to work, its not too expensive either. A lady i work with is 45 and she had really big bags ,and she looks about 5 years younger.

Other than that, a good nights sleep and plenty of water through the day x

I am an analyst chemist, my skin around my eyes is easy to get redness. How to get rid of it?

Question by Ewen B: I am an analyst chemist, my skin around my eyes is easy to get redness. How to get rid of it?
I am allergy to the smell of chemicals.

Best answer:

Answer by lychi
You might have allergic reaction to some of the chemicals at your workplace.

People who take over the counter or doctor prescribed medicine for their allergy relief are probably familiar with their side effects (i.e. fatigue, drowsiness, headache, etc. ) These medicines contain antihistamines property that inhibits inflammations and allergic reactions and suppress their symptoms.

A powerful antioxidant OPC-3 offers a natural and safe alternative and regular users often report feeling delightfully energetic at the same time. This is because of the high content of free radical scavenging OPCs found in OPC-3.
http://www.marketamerica.com/lcbeauty/product-2217/isotonix-opc3.htm

OPC-3 inhibits the release of histamine. Histamine is a key factor in the promotion of inflammation and allergies, and is associated with eruptive diseases of the skin, irritations of the nose and air passages, rheumatism and stomach ulcers. A common pharmaceutical approach to the control of inflammatory diseases involves the administration of antihistamines. But these drugs produce undesirable side effects. OPC-3, a natural antihistamine, acts as an anti-inflammatory and anti-allergy agent, without side effects.

OPC-3 contains the most powerful bioflavonoids(OPC) currently known to research scientists today. They are Pycnogenol (pine bark extract), grape seed extract, red wine extract bilberry extract & citrus extract.

OPC-3 has been shown to provide a variety of health benefits including but not limited to combating free radicals, demonstrating anti-inflammatory activity, improving skin's elasticity, supporting skin collagen production, helping maintain healthy cholesterol levels, helping maintain joint flexibility, helping promote/support cardiovascular health, helping reduce mild menstrual cramping and abdominal pain, helping support visual health/visual acuity, etc.

The reason I recommend OPC-3 is because it's part of the Isotonix family, which is the only oral supplement in the market with isotonic capability when mixing with certain amount of water. Any food or pills taken orally must be digested within our stomach and transported in an isotonic state before our body can absorb its nutrients. This process can take from 40 minutes to 4 hours.

This means that when we drink a supplement that’s isotonic, our stomach does not need to digest it, so that it can enter our small intestines for absorption within minutes. With Isotonix products, little nutritive value is lost, making the absorption of nutrients highly efficient while delivering maximum results.

Well,

Foundation works well.
I have the same problem.
Unfortunatly, I'm only twelve, so
I'm not allowed to wear it. People have
told me to drink more water, and that works
for some people.
But I would definetly say, get some inexpensive
foundation.

Is there anything that can be done for dark circles and puffy eyes?

Question by Dana C: Is there anything that can be done for dark circles and puffy eyes?
I've had this problem for awhile. I inherited it from my mother. It's not from allergies, or lack of sleep, or drugs, etc. I wear a very heavy concealer which helps a little bit, but it's still very noticeable. My mom got cosmetic surgery to correct hers, but I will probably not do that. Is there a product that works to reduce puffyness and dark circles? Thanks

How do you get rid of dark circles under eyes?

Question by J: How do you get rid of dark circles under eyes?
I'm only 16 years old and I have to wear loads of foundation and concealor under my eyes. However much makeup I use, it looks cakey and they still look slightly dark. I get enough sleep, is there any other suggestions other than sleeping more that will get rid of them? My skin is really pale, which probably makes them even darker. None of my friends have this problem. I can't even stay out long as I know that the makeup will have all came off within a few hours so I have to go home and re-apply it..

Okay, you need to be patient with this but it works like nothing else in the long term. You need a cream (or gel is even better, I use one called "Vita-K Solution") with a high concentration of Vitamin K and this should be the very first thing you put under your eye after cleansing. Do this every morning as well as every night before you go to bed. This will correct any abnormalities you have with the capillary structure, which is the most common reason for both dark undereye circles and spider veins later on in life.

As well, the obvious of course. Be sure you're getting LOTS of rest and keep as stress-free as possible.

Under-eye puffiness — whether in the form of mild swelling, dark "bags" or saggy under-eye skin — is the last thing most people want to see when they look in the mirror in the morning. Though mild puffiness under your eyes can be annoying or embarrassing, it's usually only a temporary cosmetic concern and rarely a sign of a serious underlying medical condition. Puffy eyes can result from a number of causes, including:

* Heredity
* Fluid retention such as due to changes in weather or hormone levels
* Allergies or dermatitis, especially if puffiness is accompanied by redness and itching
* Certain medications

There are a number of steps you can take to prevent and reduce mild under-eye puffiness:

* Get enough sleep at night. For most adults, seven to eight hours a night appears to be the best amount of sleep.
* Sleep with your head slightly raised. Add an extra pillow or prop up the head of your mattress. This helps prevent fluids from accumulating around your eyes as you sleep.
* While sitting up, apply a cool tap water compress to the skin under your eyes for a few minutes. You can also use chilled cucumber slices, a refrigerated gel mask or chilled, damp tea bags.
* Reduce allergy symptoms. Avoid allergens when possible, and ask your doctor about over-the-counter or prescription allergy medications.

There is some anecdotal evidence that hemorrhoid cream applied under the eyes can reduce puffiness. But no clinical trials have evaluated its effectiveness for this use. Also, ingredients in hemorrhoid cream may be irritating to the skin around your eyes, resulting in dryness and inflammation.

If puffiness is severe and persistent or you notice swelling (edema) in other parts of your body, see your doctor. He or she will want to rule out other possible causes of swelling, such as kidney or thyroid problems or a side effect of medications.
