Whats a popular brand with a anti eye wrinkle cream that actually works.?

Question by Annie: Whats a popular brand with a anti eye wrinkle cream that actually works.?
I ask for a popular brand because i live in New Zealand and we dont have all the brands your guys have.
Please and thank you.

Answer by c b
I have tried several (L'Oreal, No. 7 (UK), Garnier) and was almost tempted to buy a £30 Oil of Olaz today. In my view, I have the same wrinkles as before. But I have stopped smoking and drink 2 litres of water every day, which seems to help a bit. You could also try to take collagen supplements and drink Pomegranate juice (full of antioxidants-better option than red wine, but less fun). So, my answer: No cream works.

Answer by A.J. Alexander
I like Clinique eye cream, which makes your under-eye-area firmer and gets rid of bags. As for the colour, just use some concealer in the mornings (make sure to use primer first so it doesn't cake!)

What's the difference between white willow bark and black willow bark?

Question by Me: What's the difference between white willow bark and black willow bark?
I'm not sure what's different about them or if they're the same thing, and I want to use whichever works best for acne.

Thank you!

Best answer:

Answer by oldtimekid2
According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_willow they are just two different species of Willow trees (similar to how green grape vines and red grape vines are different species of grape vines). It also points out that both Black Willow and White Willow barks have Salicylic Acid (what Aspirin was first derived from before they made it from chemicals), but I've never heard of either one helping for acne.
Part of the hard problem with acne is that there are different causes for acne including hormones, oil on the skin (either made by the skin or from the environment), diet, and many other things... it's hard for any single product to take care of all of those causes without a variety of side effects (eg. dry skin, etc). Granted, you could try a number of skin health supplements like Biotin, Silica (commonly from Horsetail), Squalene, Borage Oil (specifically for the GLA, Gamma Linoleic Acid), Hyaluronic Acid, MSM, L-Cysteine, Collagen, and most antioxidants (like Vitamins A and C among others). Good luck and I hope I helped!

What's the best anti-aging supplements for men?

Question by Marc M: What's the best anti-aging supplements for men?
What would you guys say is the best anti-aging supplements for men? Is there any that can reduce wrinkling and help support healthy skin function? Or possibly erase/minimize sun damage?

Answer by joeyrok
1-Vitamin E- Touted as the BEST supplement for fighting the signs of aging, this is one of THE most potent antioxidants. It is THE staple of anti-aging supplements.

2-A potent, quality men's multivitamin
It has been proven that taking a quality multivitamin can cut your risk of becoming sick by at least 50%!

3-Fish Oil- This supplement increases collagen production and helps proper collagen synthesis, ensuring soft, supple skin and a healthy glow.

4-Selenium. This antioxidant mineral plays a pivotal role in neutralizing free-radicals which means a better defense barrier of advanced aging of the skin.

This extremely powerful antioxidant could very well be your best defense against future cancer. Selenium is a trace element found naturally in foods like nuts, liver and animal proteins.
Studies suggest that healthy trace elements of selenium in your diet can reduce the risk of cancer in several organs by as much as 45%! Selenium supplementation has been reported widely to improve confused and depressed mental states, mental fatigue and anxiety symptoms.
So, a more efficient, happier, less confused mind ,better skin tone, cancer fighting properties and immune system defense system.

5-Carotenoids. A vitamin A supplement or carotenoid supplement helps protect skincell membranes. To boost carotenoids in the body take a supplement containing 10,000 I.U. Vitamin A daily and 50 MG of mixed carotenoids.

6-Vitamin C-This powerful antioxidant helps protect the cells in the skin that vitamin E and carotenoids can't reach enabling more powerful, COMPLETE skin cell protection.

7-Pycnogenol- A new age antioxidant, this supplement is slowly proving to be an effective anti-aging remedy. It works by delaying aging and slowing the rate at which skin, the cardiovascular tissues and organs break down.

8-Alpha Lipoic Acid- Another new age antioxidant supplement. Not only does this acid forestall the degeneration of cells, it also boosts the antioxidant powers of vitamins C and E.

What's the difference betwen soy protein, whey protein and protein from food?

Question by KRISTEN l: What's the difference betwen soy protein, whey protein and protein from food?
My husband started a more intense workout and has to supplement it with much more protein. He's eating more food protein, but as far as supplement shakes we are wondering what the difference is between whey and soy and other protein shakes. Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by Dr Wot
All 'Proteins' are made from Amino Acids, fitted together in different ways like interchangeable pieces in a jigsaw puzzle.

The general idea in Bodybuilding is to eat the right 'balance' of Amino Acids so that your body can make 'Muscle Proteins' (actin, myosin, fibrin and collagen, together with several other types) efficiently.

There are some disagreements about the best way to do this, because some of the foods that have a 'profile' of AAs that matches human muscle closely (like egg for example), aren't very easy to digest. Whey is often the easiest protein to digest, but some people are better at this than others. Soy protein (from soya beans) can cause intestinal gas, for some people.

The best solution is usually to try different products, find out which one works best for the individual, and 'correct' its profile by taking amino supplements.

This approach involves learning about AA profiles, and especially about the 'Essential Eight' amino acids. It can feel like hard work, but the effort is very worthwhile, especially because of the other bodybuilding knowledge that you will pick up while researching the topic.

Hair products are not made of glue to fix, prevent, reverse hair from getting damaged or hair loss, or make them grow . . . . they are a trillion dollar business. They also do NOT give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss caused by heat & chemicals - hair's worst enemies.

If you want perfection, you NEED patience. Even anorexic models have long hairs, and they're not considered 'healthy'. http://www.newser.com/story/155031/12-ce… I was one, and had long hair when I weighed 85 lbs.

Babies can do that, by drinking their milk. . . . so can you, so can any of us without any help. From your: good genes, good hair care and all the healthy foods from Mother Nature, that's where you get all your vitamins & minerals for growing from head to toes. Shampoos are meant for cleaning the hair, not for growing.

If you've straightened your hair in the past, it may grow slowly or none at all.
DIET: Google: "Foods for Healthy Hair" http://www.foodforhealthyhair.com/ http://sg.news.yahoo.com/food-for-health… - or 10 Best Foods for Your Hair.
http://www.channelstv.com/home/2012/07/0…
NO MATTER which link you picked, they all suggest the same foods. Your hair may be the fastest-growing tissue in the body but, unlike the skin, it cannot repair itself. That is why getting the right balance of vitamins and proteins is imperative. Don't expect to look like you've stepped out of a hair commercial the day after you've changed your diet. It is likely to take at least three months before you actually see tangible results. Hair is dead, but hair also has electrical energy; the negative charge of damaged hair can lead to flyways and unruly hair.

Growing healthy hair doesn't come from a bottle or pills and hair products do not speed hair growth. Any hair oil, is another form to keep hair moisturized, nothing more. If you're in HS, your hair & nails should be growing normally, and as healthily as possible, since you're eating healthy foods. But when hair isn't growing as fast, it's because they've been tampered with: chemicals, hair straightening, etc. . .

CARE: 1. Washing less often, builds the natural oil your hair needs, to get them smoother, shinier, silkier, softer. Man-made products are just temporary, until you wash them again, and at the same time washing off the natural oil your hair NEEDS. Hair products just absorb on your hair if they're dry, like a sponge. Shampoo & condition is all you need.

When you wash your hair with one of those nutrient-rich shampoos or conditioners, most of the nutrients and active ingredients in the product don’t actually end up in your hair, they wind up down the drain… along with all the money you spent on the shampoo. It is HOW you use to style your hair or what styling tools that damage the hair, and what chemicals you're adding to the hair, not the shampoo or conditioner.

2. If you want your hair soft, you can briefly blow dry it, set them in curlers or pin curls them, blow dry, let them cool off, take the curlers &/or pins, finger tousle the hair or brush lightly to style. They will be silky, soft, smooth & shiny (for straight hair).

3. Cutting your split ends yourself, spend 5-10 mins. on a sunny day so you can easily spot them, using a 2" scissors, cut strand by strand, section by section, allowing new growth to take over. Then 2x a year, get a good hair cut. This won't speed things up, but it will make the hair look healthier while it's growing. Even healthy hair like mine get them, due to normal brushing & styling. but mostly from using stretchy chord for stressing the hair.

. .
RE: HAIR OIL: "You find people oiling hair every single day, the hair sweats and it doesn’t get washed. What do you think happens? It goes limp and becomes thin because it is not breathing,” Shamillah Mohammed, a hairstylist at SUQA, says.

Best answer comes from people with Avatars, showing their healthy, shiny, silky, soft, smooth hair.
