Lysine is a vitamin/supplement, just like calcium. It is good for many things including cold sore prevention, eye health, etc. You can find it included in many multivitamins now, but just like calcium, the amount in multivitamins isn't always enough. So, you may need to buy it as a seperate supplement to take.
