I had it in both tendons. I went on crutches and did physio for about 2 and a half years. Most of the pain went away....but if I run a lot or walk too much sometimes they just ache.....
If you haven't tried physio therapy then give it a try...also when they hurt a lot try icing them (wrap ice pack in a cloth first) for 15 min on, 15 min off might help ease the pain too. : )

  1. Adequate nutrition can play a role in preventing and easing the effects of tendinitis.

The following nutrients, used also for wound healing, are important.

Vitamin C is critical to the repair of injuries. It speeds cellular growth and repair and is important in the production of collagen, which the body uses to create connective tissue.

Vitamin A in the form of beta-carotene is also critical to tissue repair. It's best taken with zinc, which works in conjunction with vitamin A to repair tissue and reduce inflammation.

Vitamin E and selenium work together to limit inflammation and speed healing.

    Vitamin C: 1,000 mg daily.
    Beta-carotene: 10,000 IU daily.
Zinc: 30 mg daily. After a month add 1-3 mg of copper as well.
    Vitamin E: 400 IU daily.
    Selenium: 50 mcg daily.

Diet - Barley green is a good anti-inflammatory agent, sprinkle some on a salad. You can buy barley green in most health food stores.

Also, eat a lot of pineapple.Pineapple is rich in bromelain, a natural anti-inflammatory that speeds healing. Or take:
Bromelain supplement (250 to 750 mg three times a day between meals) to reduce swelling.

Black cherry juice is a popular folk remedy for arthritis that may also relieve tendinitis.
Drink two eight-ounce glasses a day, either fresh or from concentrate. (To make it fresh, a half-and-half mixture of four ounces of black cherry juice and four ounces of water.) Discontinue the treatment once the pain clears up.

  2. Research for tendinitis in the field of "HOMEOPATHY" and you would find remedies to help heal this condition. You may find books on the topic listing tendinitis in the index, or consult with a professional who specializes in homeopathy. There are website links you might consult, as a search try "homeopathy tendinitis".
