You should also consider taking vitamin D because I remember doctor Oz had a guest and he said cracky joints could be a symptom of vitamin D deficiency. I wouldn't recommend collagen but glucosamine and chondrotin are fine. Fish oil is another good supplement. Also, a healthy diet is essential. Eat more vegetables (especially broccoli and other dark leafy vegetables) and fruits (berries have powerful antioxidants). Drink water.
Glucosamine. But what ultimately worked for me was 1000mg fish oil a day.
