Should I take Vitamin C 500 mg tablets to promote hair growth and healthier skin?

Question by notatease: Should I take Vitamin C 500 mg tablets to promote hair growth and healthier skin?
I'm pretty sure I take enough Vitamin C everyday, but I really want to stimulate hair growth and healthier looking skin. What vitamins can I take for that? Also, does Vitamin C promote hair growth everywhere or just on my head?

Try biotin. It's for healthy skin hair and nails

  2. Biotin is a good supplement to promote hair growth, nail growth, and healthier looking skin. Taking vitamins help but a lot of hair growth and healthier looking skin depends on diet. Eating Plenty of greens, vegetables and meats with high proteins will most certainly help. Along with drinking water. Another thing is do not wash your hair everyday. I know this may seem gross to certain people but i always tell this to my clients. Hair growth is stimulated by the scalp and the natural oils your scalp secrete with help with that. Shampoo and conditioners should be sulfate and para-bin free. Also try to limit the amount of heat you use on your hair. For example try letting your hair air dry and then use a styling tool. Always use a heat protectant when using hot tools (straightener, curlers, etc) Also limit hair coloring or bleaching to every 8 weeks. And one other thing use argan oil this will really add shine and help your hair in the growing out process! I really hope some of the information helped you out! Happy hair growth :]

  3. Vitamin C doesn't help as much as grape seed extract (an antioxidant) and, as another poster mentioned, biotin. As far as I know, there is more scientific evidence of grape seed extract and biotin being effective for hair growth and healthy skin. Grape seed extract in particular has been found to help prevent skin cancer also. You also want to get enough collagen (the body produces this on its own, but I like to take collagen supplements as well).

I've posted links to some of the relevant lab tests below if you want to read up more. One last tip on where to get supplements: I get mine from iHerb.com. Great prices, fast shipping and lots of different products and customer reviews. If you use the coupon code RUW215 when you checkout for the first time, it gets you another $ 5 off your total price. Hope this helps.
