  5. they willnot go away. Human skin has three different layers: the epidermis (outer layer), the dermis (middle layer), and the subcutaneous stratum (innermost layer). Stretch marks occur in the dermis, the resilient middle layer that helps the skin retain its shape. No stretch marks will form as long as there is support within the dermis. Stretching plays more of a role in where the marks occur and in what direction they run. Stretching alone is not the cause. The glucocorticoid hormones responsible for the development of stretch marks affect the epidermis by preventing the fibroblasts from forming collagen and elastin fibers, necessary to keep rapidly growing skin taut. This creates a lack of supportive material, as the skin is stretched and leads to dermal and epidermal tearing. If the epidermis and the dermis has been penetrated, laser will not remove the stretch marks. Medical terminology for these kinds of markings include striae atrophicae, vergetures, striae cutis distensae, striae gravidarum (in cases where it is caused by pregnancy), lineae atrophicae, striae distensae, linea albicante, or simply striae.

Mederma, which is for scars, is supposed to help fade stretch marks also.

  7. 1. Brush your skin with a loofah or skin brush when you shower to stimulate circulation.

    2. Massage cocoa butter into the stretch marks.

    3. Use vitamin E oil on your stretch marks. Massage it into your skin after a shower.

    4. Talk to your doctor about using tretinoin cream on stretch marks. It is available by prescription only.

    5. Eat foods high in vitamins A, E and C, or take supplements in addition to your diet. However, pregnant women should avoid taking more than 25,000 IU of vitamin A.

    6. Add foods or supplements to your diet that are high in zinc (Seeds, Chili Powders, Fish, Ginger Roots, Grains,
Meats, Mustards, Nuts, Oysters, Peppers, Poultry) which is good for the skin, and silica (beets, brown rice, bell peppers, soybeans, leafy green vegetables and whole grains), which helps form collagen, the supporting fibers in the skin.

    7. Eat foods that contain essential fatty acids, which help make cell walls. Essential fatty acids can be found in many vegetables, vegetable oils and fish oils.

  8. I know Palmers cocoa butter cream kept me free of the them when I was pregnant, no marks at all. Now you can try that, or Merderma, or Bio-Oil, both are sold where first aid is. Good luck.

  9. Hi ,

I always had pretty bad stretch marks and red scars around my belly region and abdomen ever since I gave birth to my three kids.I had tried Vitamin E oil and cocoa butter which a number of people had recommended but it didn't seem to work. My Doctor had even suggested a Tummy Tuck. I then recently read an article about a lady who supposedly got rid of her stretch marks using a particular cream. I tried it and it worked really well. Within 4 weeks my stretch marks were very much faded and they soon disappeared You can read more about the lady's article at the link below.
