How do you get rid of this??

Question by Meg: How do you get rid of this??
Well first of all I have these bumpy arms. I have had them for awhile and I would really like to get rid of them and get nice smooth arms. Secondly I used to be pretty chubby. But over the summer I rapidly lost 25 pounds from joining marching band. Now I have discusting noticable strech marks on my upper legs, stomack and on my chest.

A doctor can definetly help you with this. Go see a plastic surgon or a dermitologist, possibly.

  2. Well you can't do anything to get rid of stretch marks other then creams that fade the marks, but it's very minimal. What do you mean by bumpy arms? Like pimples, or excess weight from the weight you lost? If it's weight, just use dumbbells to strengthen and tone them, if it's pimples you can't do much about that. My son has tons of little ones on his arms and the doctors said it's like eczema. Cream didn't work for that. Best of luck.

  6. stretch marks generally dont go away, they do fade, there is stuff on the market to help them fade, scarderma i believe is one, but check with your dr, you'll need to see a dermatologist for the bumps anyways, so he can help you with the marks... best !

  7. Great job on the weight loss. Try using a cocoa butter it helps get rid of marks (possibly) and take some vitamin e.
    Drink more water
and for the arms invest in a lufa mit and the vaseline (brand)
cocoa gel it's clear with a brown top it's a wonderful new product that offers a lot of good moisture - the bumps may never full go away but they will diminish - (I have them too)
a good 'tan' helps use a cream - it's healthier.. (Olay makes one you apply before bed)!

  8. Hi Meg

Congrats on weight loss. Here is a question and answer from a great forum I recommend.

11/30/2006: Monica from Chicago, IL writes, "I was wondering if you had any cures for the following: How do i get rid of stretch marks? I have never been pregnant but have fluctuating weight problems if that is a contributing factor. Maybe there is a way to prevent more from occurring or to reduce the visibility of the marks? My sister has excessive protein release from her skin. Because of this, she has unsightly skin which is bumpy and has marks left behind from what looks like acne but has been determined as proteins coming out of her skin by the dermatologist. Its all over her upper back, upper chest, and shoulders. She's only 15. Is there any natural cure for this?"

Ted replies, "Dear Monica: The body's collagen formation is at risk and it is well known that stretch marks are a zinc deficiency. So the best ways is just to take zinc supplements, such as zinc acetate, or zinc citrate or zinc gluconate. I prefer 25 mg/day taken 5 days out of a week and take it for a month before maintenance dose is needed in which case maybe once a week would do it. In some cases a stretch marks also experiences back pain or joint pain, in this case take some magnesium citrate, or magnesium chloride would do the trick. It seems that zinc and magnesium are important in preventing stretch mark however vitamin C is also needed for collagen rebuilding, but I would much prefer sodium ascobate 500 to 1000 mg as it also have an alkalizing effect on the body. This increases capillary circulation allowing the stretch to recover and hopefully restore some elasticity to the skin. I have found applying just plain vinegar or better apple cider vinegar to the skin whenever I have a skin problems helps in restoring suppleness to the skin. The other issue is skin problems are also related to your diets that is low in silicon which causes skin thickness to be reduced. So eating some food high in silica on empty stomach such as oatmeal should help.

    Best of health to you
