You can't do this with just supplements. In fact, I'd say supplements are the very last thing you should be looking at. You're at an age like (I'm the same age as you) where you realize you need to hang on to what you've got. And that's going to take some work and lifestyle changes. I know it sucks, but it's just a job like flossing your teeth. You have to be a grown up about it and do it because no one is going to do it for you.

To slow down aging process, you should focus on controlling insulin. Every time you eat something you know is bad, it's aging you. If you eat a healthy diet, that should help signficantly. I'm not a purist so I do eat a treat everyday, but I keep it very small portions and I sit down and take the time to be in the moment to enjoy my small treat. That makes a huge difference so I don't feel deprived. I give into what I want.
Again, if you eat a healthy diet, you shouldn't need too many supplements. Many vegetables help control inflammation. Control inflammation and you help slow down aging and disease. Don't forget to move. Long-lived people still move. One man in Spain had to quit riding his bike at a 110 years old. So keep moving. Keep your muscles strong.

Cysteine is good for hair. You can find that in broccoli and other vegetables like that (cauliflower, etc). Eat these particular ones cooked, though. Protein is also very good to promote collagen. Make sure you get meat in your diet. More veggies than meat though, but get meat in there daily. Vitamin C and magnesium are two supplements I'd recommend because they both have critical steps in synthesizing collagen. Magnesium, key for hyaluronic acid.

Here are two things that also help collagen in different ways. Green tea and blueberries. I'll leave the long explanation up to this very reputable link:

Keep your muscles strong. It's essential for people with a connective tissue disorder like me to exercise and build strength in muscle to keep the connective tissue strong. You don't have to be manic about it to have an amazing effect. I exercise 3-4 times a week, mostly light weight training and nothing too intense. I can't do impact exercises, so I do what I can and it has helped a lot.

The most important thing you can do of all is to be happy. Worry and stress age you badly. Try to live in the moment as best you can and don't borrow worry from the future. Hard thing to do, but it is true. When you catch yourself worrying, just try to find a way to release it. It's aging you. Go find something to make you feel joyful.

Supplements can't do all that for you. Good luck!

  1. Anti-aging vitamins and supplements include Folic acid, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, melatonin, Coenzyme Q10, aspirin, fish oil and others that you can find in http://www.lef.org/anti-aging/ .

  2. You need to take vitamins internally through supplements and externally through lotions. As for vitamins, I use Nutrilite Complex for Hair, Skin & Nails. If you are not familiar with Nutrilite, it is an organic vitamin company with farms in Washington State and California. It has made my hair stronger and my skin healther. Go to http://Arcameda.com and click on Vitamins then Women's Health. If your diet is not that great, start to take the Simply Nutrilite Women’s Supplement Pack. It has a calcium, omega 3s, and a daily multivitamin.

Now to treat the physical signs of aging, it depends on what you are looking for. Artistry is an amazing line of natural products for anti-aging called Time Defiance. It also depends on your skin type. They have Time Defiance Skin Care System for Normal-to-Dry or Combination-to-Oily skin. They systems come with a cleanser, toner and lotion with natural ingredients like Indian fig and omega, equalize and optimize hydration. The main thing is the night recovery lotion that is also part of the system. It increases skin’s collagen and elastin for dramatically younger-looking skin. They and I know it improves the appearance of skin while boosting hydration by 181%!! Go to the Arcameda and type in the search box aging.

Now if you are looking for smoothing:
    1) Artistry Alpha Hydroxy Serum Plus. It perfectly blends the exfoliating properties of alpha hydroxy acids with oat extract, a clinically proven skin soother. In just 12 weeks your skin can feel 60% smoother.

2)For natural, non-acid exfoliation, see Artistry Time Defiance Skin Refinishing Lotion. It improves skin texture by 52% in 12 weeks. For all skin types, including sensitive skin.

For a full exfoliating kit, I recommend:
Artistry Microdermabrasion System: It consists of Artistry Polishing Scrub, Skin Refinishing Lotion (the one above), and the MicroExfoliation Cloth at no cost. At Arcameda search for the word Microdermabrasion for the kit and exfoliate for the other two.

Lots of info I know but I am big on fighting aging and signs of aging is everywhere so the right tools are needed. Go to my profile to email me if you need further help. Hope all is well.

  3. I have been doing some research on this product that was just released 2 weeks ago called Vivix. Here are some of the things I have found about it so far:

It fights aging at a cellular level – as probably know cells make up tissues, which make up organs, which make up us (organisms)…so if you can slow the aging process of your cells, you are fighting aging at its source.

I don’t know if you have seen anything about Dr. David Sinclair from Harvard Medical (Newsweek, New York Times, Fortune…), but he discovered that resveratrol effects a gene that controls the aging process of that cell. He also found that resveratrol is found in red wine (see the first source – ABC News clip/Interview). Since his discovery there have been over 2,000 research publications, including studies conducted by Harvard University, the National Cancer Institute, and the National Institute on Aging, part of the National Institutes of Health.

For more specifics as well as other product info I found the 2nd source to be very helpful.

A few things of note that impressed me in comparing anti-aging products:
    - Dr. David Sinclair is a part medical advisory board of the company who developed Vivix
    - There are other products with resveratrol, but only Vivix combines resveratrol with a polyphenol blend (made from the only grape in nature with an extra chromosome)
    - The combination of Vivix ingredients is 10X as effective as resveratrol alone
    - No artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, or preservatives have been added
    - Standardized to a minimum of 98% purity – which is unheard of (written right on the ingredient label of the box)
    - It is a Shaklee product – WOW!! (see 3rd resource – if time is an issue, skip to slide 8 and continue from there)
    - Shaklee now owns all of the largest sources of that grape referred to previously

There is much more, but don’t want to overwhelm you – if you have questions you can use the "contact me" on the top of the page of the 4th source which is also where you can get Vivix (VIVIX IS NOT AVAILABLE IN ANY STORES).

    Hope this helps!
