The link below has some easy advises that can help with acne:
http://health.howstuffworks.com/skin-care/problems/treating/15-ways-to-get-rid-of-acne.htm

Vitamin C is essential for collagen production so supplement slow-release Ester-C (calcium ascorbate). Also take 1. multivitamin OR 2. cod liver oil (contains omega 3 and vitamin A and D) and B-complex in co-enzyme form.
Drink 2 liters of water and avoid hydrogenated & trans fats and sugars found in processed food.

Does anyone know how to help stretchmarks fade?

Question by talia: Does anyone know how to help stretchmarks fade?
I'm 16 soon to be 17. And i have horrible stretch marks on my hips! I understand they are normal but i haven't seen anyone with them as bad as how i have them. So my sister told me to go tan outside to help hide them and now they stand out even more! I need to know something that will work. I have time but don't want to wait a couple of months for results. Any suggestions?

Does eating soup from chicken feet and rooster combs help knee cartilage?

Question by ik: Does eating soup from chicken feet and rooster combs help knee cartilage?

Best answer:

Answer by oldtimekid2
Yes, it would a bit... but I wouldn't eat the actual feet or comb. A soup with those in it would be okay as long as they are very clean and you can verify that there aren't diseases or any of the bad stuff in them.
The chicken feet wouldn't have too much of a benefit (not much cartilage in them), but the rooster's comb is a good source of Hyaluronic Acid, which helps to lubricate the joints. Also, if you put the breast bone into the pot the soup is being made in, you can get some added benefit because the sternal cartilage is a good source of collagen that can help with joint health.
Alternately, you could also buy these in supplement form so you wouldn't have to drink as much soup or have to go through the hassle of preparing it... but it's up to you where you get it from. Good luck!

Can GLUCOSAMINE SULFATE help protect tendons?

Question by .: Can GLUCOSAMINE SULFATE help protect tendons?
Was on Levaquin (like cipro) which causes tendon damage...think I may have some slight tendonitis. Can GLUCOSAMINE SULFATE help heal and/or protect tendons? Any ideas on what to take? Supposedly tendon damage can happen months after stopping taking the antibiotic.

Best answer:

Answer by think_global
Glucosamine is primarily the material that makes up the joint connection (like the gristle in chicken) Chondroitin is a supplement that adds moisture to the glucosamine so it does nt get brittle and break down, but the best thing for connective tissue (ligaments, tendons) is collagen. There is a product called CollaTrim that is both a weight loss product when used in one fashion, and a connective tissue rebuilder when used in a slightly different way. Good Luck.

What can a male take with biotin to help prevent pimples?

Question by Ernst: What can a male take with biotin to help prevent pimples?

Best answer:

Answer by Sur La Mer
NEVER take supplements without your doctor's OK.

Any kind of facial wash, you're leaving something toxic behind, it's not a matter of convenience, it's a billion dollar business that can do more harm than good to your acne. And sometimes we feel entirely virtuous about our skin-care regimen because it's full of SPF-- all year round!-- and cleansers and such. But the truth is, we may not realize that we're overdoing (or underdoing) something that can lead to the very thing we're trying to avoid: dryness, breakouts, accelerated aging, New York dermatologist Dr. Jeannette Graf. (I've been giving this same advice for decades, but she's proof enough!).
Take a shower everyday, use washcloth to exfoliate and bath & body wash. Hydrogen peroxide does wonders for acne. Visit their website for more tips & other uses. ONLY $ 1.

Acne medication could worsen what ever allergies you have, so instead of trying out one product after another, you're actually spreading it around.
The less products you use, the better for your skin. Use a bath & body wash like Suave, Irish Spring, Dove Body & Face wash in the shower, use a washcloth. Treat your face like the rest of your body, take a shower everyday or wash your face everyday.

The secret is keeping your face clean and oil-free. I also don't use liquid on my face for anything, and very little moisturizer, not even a dime size. Since my face is not dry. Good skin also comes from your good genes. Increase your fresh fruits & vegetables 3-5 servings per day. And programmed your mind to do this day after day, for the rest of your life.

The beauty industry is a trillion dollar business, they know acne is everyone's problem, but instead of saying soap is drying for you, they have to invent an acne product that can worsen the skin as MANY TEENAGERS have experienced during hormonal change, but as you get older those are completely a waste of time & money!

Sometimes just the oil on your face from make up and lotions, even from your hair can travel to your face causing acne to come out. Others, from stress, hormones & diet or foods.

Google: FIVE FOODS TO EAT FOR BEAUTIFUL SKIN
All the vitamins & minerals you need for good skin care comes from all the healthy foods you eat from Mother Nature.

If acne's a problem, your pillowcases may be part of the cause. "They collect skin oil, dead skin cells, bacteria, and excess night creams," says David Bank, a professional Dermatology @ Columbia University/New York-Presbyterian Hospital. "But if nothing changed by 6 week the product will never work for you. Time to move on."

"If you have breakouts, dairy is the devil' it is inflammatory and will add hormones to your already hormone-rife system. Get calcium elsewhere, or try nonfat organic dairy products. For PMS breakouts, avoid dairy and bakery items the week before your period - sugar and flour are both causes for pimples and collagen." Dr. Jessica Wu, M.D. University of Southern California School of Medicine and author of the new book Feed Your Face.

SOMEONE WROTE TO ME the other day, ASKING IF THIS BRAND IS BETTER THAN THAT BRAND - FOUND @ DRUGSTORES THEN WROTE ME BACK & THANK ME, SHE LOOKED @ HER MOM'S SKIN AND THEY WERE GOOD, BUT SHE USES ONLY WATER TO WASH HER FACE. There you go, an update.

Lea Michele recently revealed her secret to clear skin—She gives it room to "breathe." "Maybe I'll put on a little mascara. But other than that I try very hard to just let my skin breathe," she told people.com. "I care more about letting my skin breathe than how I look."
Another good example is Lily Collins, actor, writer, artist: "When I travel to Europe, I go days without putting anything on. It feels healthier. I just never understood the idea of caking it on. The more you have on your face, the more there is to smudge and go wrong." Glamour - Sept. 2012.

Drop the anti-depressant / sleep aid drugs!
& then do plenty of exercise.
If, after plenty of exercise, there's still a need to quell anxiousness, try a beer, wine or a shot of scotch if yer old enuff.
Drop the anti-depressant / sleep aid drugs!
Best wishes!

What can I take to help my skin stay elastic?

Question by Sarsa Parilla: What can I take to help my skin stay elastic?
I'm entering my later 20s and I would like to take supplements to help keep skin elastic, but I don't know which

Best answer:

Answer by JEAN
Some of the ways that will help your skin stay supple and look younger as you get older would be to stay out of the sun without protection and no tanning beds. Drink plenty of water. Watch your diet. Eat well balanced foods. You make want to apply moisturizer.Personal daily Hygiene is a must You should also develop an exercise program. These things may sound as you'd be working at it all the time but it really does not take that much time and reaping the benefits are great. Keep your mind busy also. Good Luck!.

It might work, just depends on your how your body will take it. I took some for a while but broke out a little. (I believe this is a normal side effect).
I recommend buying and using Mane n tail shampoo. That stuff works! You can buy it at walmart. Good luck!

What is the Collagen supplement for? Would it help prevent skin aging?

Question by resonance321: What is the Collagen supplement for? Would it help prevent skin aging?
Would taking Collagen orally help prevent aging of the skin? I saw it in the store the other day in the Vitamin section...if that's not what it's for then what is it?

Best answer:

Answer by Adam
It's probably designed to boost collagen production.

You would get the same effect from eating fruits and veggies high in vitamin C which help boost collagen naturally.

Collagen is one of the building blocks of your skin. Without it your skin sags and other unwanted effects.

Does deep massage help prevent cellulite?

Question by Cathleen: Does deep massage help prevent cellulite?
I'm 13, my mom massages he legs every night so she doesn't get cellulite. She says I should do it too while I'm young so I don't get it. Does it even work? She does it because there is a woman in her gym who is in ok but not amazing shape and deep massages every night, and she has next to no cellulite.

Best answer:

Answer by ClickMaster
Your mom is wrong and wasting her time with massages. If massaging really did work, don't you think every female on the planet would know about it???

Here's the sad truth about cellulite. Cellulite is not fat, it's a genetic-based condition involving an uneven distribution of adipose and collagen tissues and once you have it, you will probably have it for life. However, because cellulite involves fat, you may be able to reduce the prominence of it by burning fat. Unfortunately, cellulite seems to present in those areas where fat tends to leave last...buttocks and thighs. So, reducing the cellulite effect will, for most people, require burning excess fat to a very low body fat percent....something which usually means a serious lifestyle change and commitment to proper eating habits for life with no guarantees.

Exercise won't help beyond burning a few more calories so plan your workouts around fitness goals such as excellence in a sport or occupation, strength, endurance, flexibility, systemic fitness, general health and well being, body sculpting, body composition, etc. Don't exercise with the hope it will help make cellulite disappear because it won't.

Here's an excerpt from an article from the US National Institute of Health, the people your doctor listens to.

"A great deal of money is spent by people who want to rid themselves of cellulite, but no amount of weight loss, exercise, massages, wraps, creams, supplements, or surgery has proven to effectively eliminate it once you have it. Liposuction, for instance, is not recommended for cellulite, and may even make it look worse."

Which supplements are good to help improve/maintain skins overall appearance?

Question by FRANKIE G: Which supplements are good to help improve/maintain skins overall appearance?
I've noticed that since I changed my eating habits (for the better), moisturize day and night, wear sunblock during the day on my face, take a multi vitamin and collagen supplements that my skin has improved dramatically. Not a night and day difference, of course, but it's clearer, softer, less fine lines and the redness is gone. I look like the youthful 27 year old I'm supposed to be!
What other natural supplements are good for the skin?

Coca cola and chocolate.
