  1. I don't know if this is an old wives tale, but I grew up hearing that buttermilk helps. Just rub it on the areas you have stretch marks like you would lotion. Although, considering so many people have them, I don't know if there really is a way to truly get rid of them. Good luck.

  2. Try using virgin olive oil. Just rub it into the stretch marks. It's also good for fading out scars. :)

  3. Stretch marks are impossible to remove permanently. They are caused when the fiber under the skin (collagen) is damaged. These fibers are extremely hard to repair. They start out as prominent red lines, then turn into a whitish- colored scar when healed. Once the damaged fiber is healed, it becomes what we know as a stretch mark (visible scar tissue).

Can creams, pills, or medical procedures help?

They can help, but won't do anything of significance. Supplement companies, doctors, and general retailers have caught onto the amount of money they could bring in with so-called stretch mark treatment. Again, once the skin fibers are damaged, that's it! Creams fortified with vitamin E and other nutrients (no different from lotion, but quadruple the price), laser treatment, and pills can help, but will not eliminate the problem.

So how can I improve the appearance of stretch marks?

The only thing you can do is to try firming the problem area through exercise and nutrition. Stretch marks will naturally begin to fade with time.

  4. Cocoa butter and shea butter, or really any thick lotion or cream will help minimize them, but they are scars and scars don't completely heal. I've heard that tanning helps some too. You could also try Avon's Refine stretchmark cream.

  5. There is a cream in a beauty section of a store that has a cream that removes it for you, i don't know what the name is, but i hope that you can find it.

  6. stretch marks are common and nothing to be embarrased of...but unfortunately they don't go away they are permanent, yes tanning fades them, but if you want quick results use Mederma, its for fading scars-exactly what you want to do

  7. Rub them with Palmers' Cocobutter body cream.
