How to get rid of stretch marks?

Question by Katie: How to get rid of stretch marks?
I am of normal weight and height for my age . A few years ago I lost quite abit of weight which is probably the reason I have stretch marks . I'm currently 16 and love going to the beach and wearing cute lower cut styles so marks are quite annoying . What are some ways I can get rid of them? My problem areas are my chest , hips , and inner thigh.

*Brush your skin with a loofah or skin brush when you shower to stimulate circulation.

*Massage cocoa butter into the stretch marks.

*Use vitamin E oil on your stretch marks. Massage it into your skin after a shower.

*Talk to your doctor about using tretinoin cream on stretch marks. It is available by prescription only.

*Eat foods high in vitamins A, E and C (see Related eHows), or take supplements in addition to your diet. However, pregnant women should avoid taking more than 25,000 IU of vitamin A.

*Add foods or supplements to your diet that are high in zinc,, which is good for the skin, and silica (beets, brown rice, bell peppers, soybeans, leafy green vegetables and whole grains), which helps form collagen, the supporting fibers in the skin.

*Eat foods that contain essential fatty acids, which help make cell walls. Essential fatty acids can be found in many vegetables, vegetable oils and fish oils.

Hope I helped and good luck!! :) :)

  1. Unfortunately, you cannot get rid of stretch marks. They are permanent scars. The good news is that you can lighten them and make them less noticeable. If they are dark (pinkish, reddish, or brownish--depending on your skintone) then they can lighten over time, but if they are already white, then there's not much you can do from there. Don't believe any creams or oils that say they will get rid of stretch marks completely. It is the circulation (which lotion and vitamin e/oils make it easier to massage) that help lighten stretchmarks because it boosts collagen production. That is why moisturizing is very important because it keeps your skin elastic. You can prevent future stretchmarks by moisturizing your body at least twice a day. Cocoa and shea butter are great and often recommended to prevent stretchmarks. Remember that even with expensive laser treatments, you cannot get rid of them completely. You can only prevent and lighten them, and they respond better when they're darker because once they're white, they are usually fully lightened. I hope that helped even though it is discouraging that there isn't a way to fully get rid of them.

  2. Actually there is less option for reducing stretch marks. Cosmetic surgery and laser stretch mark removal are the options to get rid of this, but I don’t want to recommend you to go for it. But these treatments are more expensive and risky. You can refer another way to get rid of stretch marks. Many people can go with several anti-stretch marks creams. But some of them are less effective and some are more effective. But most of the time they help to reduce stretch marks. Some creams shows their effects within 3 to 4 weeks and some take more time.
